Caitlin Kim- 18 months

Caitlin is 18 months. Hard to believe that she is this old, but at the same time it is hard to remember time before her. She is our sunshine each and every day.

Size 20 lbs (19th percentile) 31.5 inches (40th percentile)

Caitlin can...
WALK! She has been walking since 16 months. She hardly sits still these days. In fact, often I catch her walking in a circle. No where to go, but has to keep moving!

Laugh. She loves tickling mommy and daddy and being tickled and chased. Peek-a-boo is another guaranteed laugh session. Unfortunately, so is hitting poor Winston in the head with her snack cup.

Help. She hands me her bottle or her snack wrapper when she's done. At daycare, she pulls her booster over to the table. At the grocery store, she pulls items out of the cart and puts them on the conveyor belt.




Feeding:
Drinks 1 bottle of crapplejuice (apple juice and Miralax), 3 bottles of whole milk, and water.

She is a pretty good eater. Her favorite meals are breakfast and lunch. Dinner is hit or miss. Her hands down favorite meal is mac and cheese, but she likes a variety of food. We are still working on getting her to eat more veggies, but she loves fruit.



Sleeping:
Caitlin usually wakes up around 7:30. Bedtime is 7. She still takes two naps. Two hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. Although occasionally she'll have a longer morning nap (three to four hours) and then not much of one in the afternoon.

We turn her fan on high, give her lambie or froggie, and she leans her head on you and strokes her hair.



Loves:
Buckles. This is a fascination that never ended. She just love them. Still can't quite figure them out, but that will come I'm sure.

Ice cream. Daddy's introduced her to ice cream and she's a fan.

Sorting. She can sort shoes, laundry, books for almost an hour straight. It's just about the only time she sits still.

Being outside. She loves to go for walks, go to the park, get pushed in her car, play in her sandbox or water table, or just walk around and explore the backyard. Can't wait to take her swimming!



Not a Fan of:
Giving up something that she has (or having anyone come in the vicinity of what she wants). She has become very possessive lately both at daycare and at home with other kids. She has this whine "ehhhhhhh" that she does whenever someone (a kid) comes close to her and she thinks he or she is after what she has.

Caitlin has this terrible screech that is like nails on the chalkboard. This is a distinctly different from the whine described above. It usually means she wants something or lost something or is just plain old tired. There are many meanings that Mommy and Daddy are left to decipher.

Petting zoos. Thought she was over it, but no. HATES!



Wearing:
Clothes: 12 month onesies, shorts, and some outfits. 18 month rompers and some skirts and shirts. She's so skinny on bottom that she probably could even wear some 9 month bottoms if it wasn't for the length.

Diapers: size 3 Luvs since 7 months! (just looked this up)

Shoes: size 3 and one pair of sandals in size 4
