Levi: 1 Month

Since I was such a colossal FAIL on Levi's pregnancy posts, I definitely wanted to start and keep up with his monthly posts. I love looking through Caitlin's monthly posts and marveling at how much she was grown up! So a little late (funny thing: I'm a "little" busy with two ;), but better than never: Here is Levi Michael at 1 month old.

Size 11 lbs 2 oz (74th percentile) and 22.5 inches long (80th percentile). You are just 3 oz shy of sister at 2 months. You're getting to be a big, strong boy!

Levi can...
Smile! He smiled at Daddy at about 3 weeks and has been doing it more and more lately. I haven't been quick enough to catch it on camera yet...

Your neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger. You lift your head up and look around.

Feeding:
Eats like a champ, but is a much messier eater than sister! ;) Levi eats about every 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours during the day and about every 4 to 5 hours at night. He takes a bottle every 2 to 3 days to keep him used to that when Mom goes back to work in January.

Sleeping:
Levi is a good sleeper (hallelujah!) He is usually up about an hour and a half (including feeding) and then naps for about an hour and a half and then starts all over again. He goes to bed around 9:30 (we are working on moving that up a bit, now that Jason is back at work), wakes up around 1:30 to eat, and then again at 5:30am.

He likes to be swaddled, have his soothie pacifier, and we turn on the box fan for white noise. He loves to watch his twilight turtle as he goes to sleep. Overall, he does well putting himself to sleep as long as we can catch him at that perfect "drowsy yet awake" stage.

Loves:
Getting kisses from Big Sister. He loves to stare at her.

Watching fans.

Riding in the Ergo (great purchase this time around... and a yard sale find at that)!

Not a Fan of:
The car seat. He loathes the car seat. He does fall asleep on the highway, but otherwise HATES it!

Getting out of a warm bath. Can't blame you, buddy.

Gas. Seems like you have it more than sister did, and it can sometimes take you awhile to work out a burp.

Wearing:
Clothes: 0-3 months (some are a bit big, but the newborn are too small)
Diapers: Newborn Pamper Swaddlers

Random Happenings:
Dada was off for 3 weeks paternity leave which was wonderful, but he's back at work now. Mama is off for another 2 months and is loving this time with you!

Grandpa (Bapo) and Grandma Bremer came down for a week. We were very busy, but you still got lots of snuggles in. You were a champ at rolling with all the changing schedules.

HAPPY 1 MONTH, baby Levi! You have already brought so much joy into our life. I am trying to soak in all this "newborness". I know it goes way too fast. We love being a family of four!
